The “My Cups of Kindness” campaign by Starbucks was organized and done by the team behind GO Communications.

Starbucks Malaysia made a historic moment as they appointed GO Communications as their first ever agency to manage their Public Relations and Communications initiatives throughout the country in late February 2018. This was done as well to celebrate the global coffee house’s 20th anniversary in Malaysia.

GO Communications took the opportunity with Neelofa’s tweet and used it as an opportunity to collaborate with actress and entrepreneur Neelofa for the campaign (#MYCupsofKindness). They fully understood that the communications landscape is continuously shifting and proposed a collaboration with Neelofa, one of the prominent celebrity in Malaysia to organize the Cups of Kindness campaign in Malaysia.

This campaign which lasted for a day on 1st August 2018, gathered a lot of positive and overwhelming response from both Neelofa’s fans as well as the public. This was as well because Starbucks donated RM0.50 on every Summer Frappuccino sold at all Starbucks stores in Malaysia to a charity of Neelofa’s choice.

“I appreciate that Starbucks Malaysia has provided a platform for me to continue to serve the society and also to gather everyone to join together to spread the goodness through the campaign." - Neelofa

Neelofa spent the afternoon writing personalized messages of kindness for each cup sold at the Starbucks outlet at Four Seasons Place. The campaign was a success as there were a total of 343 posts on the day itself, engaging approximately 30,000 views on Starbucks Malaysia’s Instagram profile, 2000+ likes with the hashtag on Instagram itself as well as 10+ features on blogs and newspapers.

"The business and PR world can be a tough place, but you learn to develop a thick hide and focus on what’s morally and ethically right." - Peter de Kretser

GO Communications ensures maximum effectiveness in all campaigns held by them. They never do the “one-size-fits-all” approach to their clientele as they believe tailoring is necessary as each client approaches them with different initiatives and end goals.
